Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is my favorite park if I had to pick. But each park has its own perks.
Favorite Rides
How to chose? Admittedly I am NOT a roller coaster person, even the dip in Pirates of the Caribbean require bravery on my part but I ride it. I have tried to be brave lately to try some new things. I have never done Splash Mountain or Space Mountain. But my family of thrill seekers love them.
Peter Pan’s Flight is one of my favorites. It’s a classic. The lines can be LONG so get a fast pass for this. The queues is fun, we have only queued once during a shorter line while the firework show was happening.
Em LOVES the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and after riding 3-4 times with Em this last trip I do not hate it. Get a fast pass.
People Mover is great for a break and to rest a minute.
Under the Sea is another favorite of mine. Slow moving, indoors and lots of fun songs…..Sha la, la, la, la, oh my, my you’re gonna kiss the girl, You’re gonna kiss the girl
Dumbo the Flying Elephant is a classic. As well as the teacups.
Favorite Eats
Sleepy Hollow has waffles. Our favorite is the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich but the Nutella one is great too. It looks like they took the ham one off the menu for good reason we did not care for it. But they have added hand dipped corn dogs which was one of our favorites when we visited Disneyland. Tip ask for a cup of ice water wherever you eat. Also the large coke is much cheaper comparatively you get more coke for just a few cents extra.
Dole Whip Float. You can find these at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom and other select locations around Disney World.
Beauty and the Beast themed restaurant, Be Our Guest. They offer quick service breakfast and lunch and table service dinner. We ate dinner here for Em’s 5th birthday and we had lunch last December. I much prefer the dinner even though its more expensive. The ambiance was better and you only can get the Grey Stuff at night. You can get a Grey Stuff cupcake at lunch but it is not the same.
Cinderella’s Royal Table located inside Cinderella’s Castle is a character dining experience open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate here for breakfast on Em’s 5th birthday. The ambiance is fun and the views of Fantasy Land are special but the food is lacking, you are paying for the experience two meals on the dining plan. Once you do it with your little princess once I would not do it again.
We like the BBQ Mac and Cheese for a substantial snack from The Friar’s Nook.
Gaston’s Tavern has one of the best cinnamon rolls in the world.
We ate at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn for the first time in October and I was pleasantly surprised. Em and I had the nachos and Ry the taco burger.
We ate at Pinocchio Village Haus last December. I am guessing I got the Caprese flatbread but it must have been pretty unremarkable because I do not actually remember.
Favorite Experiences
Festival of Fantasy is my all time favorite Disney parade. It happens mid afternoon.
Castle projections and fireworks make my heart happy and Happily Ever After is no exception.
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a magical experience for the little princess in your life. Highly recommend. We did bring her own dress though rather than paying for one there. We also made an early appointment so she could enjoy the day all dressed up. Not something we will pay for everything we visit Disney but for special trips. I wish they had an adult version.
Mickey’s PhilharMagic is one of our favorite shows at Disney. It is the classic Disney songs that make me love it so much. I love Frozen and Moana as much as everyone but there is something about those classics. Bonus the air-conditioner is on point always.
Monster, Inc Laugh Floor is another great indoor, air-conditioned show. The jokes are good and sitting indoors for a spell is great. Just not for “That Guy”.
The Enchanted Tiki Room is the first to use audio-animatronics. It’s definitely dated but I love seeing the progression from beginning to today’s audio-animatronics.
Characters for the day can be located on the Disney app or the paper map you pick up on the way in. Our favorites include Rapunzel, Gaston, and Ariel.
We attended Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this year. You can see our pictures and what we did here.
Last year we attended Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and since I love Christmas so much along with Disney it was the perfect fit.
Hollywood Studios
Favorite Rides
There are not to many rides in Hollywood Studios but with the new Toy Story Land and Star Wars area opening soon. Ry loved Rockin Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. No thanks…I enjoy the shows and Toy Story Mania was tons of fun. I love the 3D effects.
Favorite Eats
As you can see we have only spent about one day in Hollywood Studios. But here is to next time. What are your Hollywood favs?
I only remember eating at Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner last year. We planned the trip semi late and did not have reservations anywhere in Hollywood Studios.
My eat list for next time includes: carrot cake cookie, butter finger cupcake, Out-of-this-world turtle cheesecake (I am sensing a theme here)…
Hollywood offers some great experiences dining options like 50s Prime Time Cafe, Sci-fi Dine in, and Hollywood and Vine. I am not sure why I do not remember much from here but I look forward to exploring in the future.
Favorite Experiences
Last year we saw the Jingle Bell Jam in Hollywood Studios. I would recommend watching it if you are there.
The Frozen Sing Along is delightfully hilarious thanks to the royal historians.
