Last Thursday we attended our first ever Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. We dressed up as Elsa, Anna and Kristoff.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a special ticketed event that happens on select nights between late August and Halloween. The party starts at 7 and ends at midnight when the park closes. The party tickets gets you into the Magic Kingdom at 4. I recommend arriving before 4. Go through bag check and wait in line.
We slept in, had lunch at Sanaa and arrived at Magic Kingdom right before 4. If you want to go to Magic Kingdom or another park you will have to use a park admission ticket. I don’t recommend this, especially if you have small children. Sleep in, nap and take it easy so you can stay til the party is over to make use of the lighter crowds.
You can make fast pass selections for the evening of th party. Due to the time frames usually it only works out to have two fast passes instead of three. They turn off the fast pass selections after 7. They give special arm bands once you arrive to Magic Kingdom. At 7 you will notice cast members directing people without arm bands to the exit.
Elsa and I took a few pictures before making our way to Peter Pan while Kristoff raced away to Space Mountain. We changed our second pass from Tomorrowland Speedway to Buzz, hoping to squeeze in another fast pass. Sadly there was not time. We met up with our friends from Pensacola, grabbed some candy at the trick or treat stations and hit some rides.
There are Trick or Treat stations set up through out the Magic Kingdom. Great candy! Kristoff and I wondered if Disney paid for the candy or if it was donated by Mars for advertising. Also how many pounds are given away each year! We ended up going to about four stations they gave you plenty of candy. We flew Spirit Air so we only could bring so much candy back with us. I love that in true Disney fashion there is also completely non-food trick or treating for people with food allergies.
We had dinner at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn. It was our first time eating there and I was impressed with the food. Elsa and I shared the nachos, while Kristoff had the taco burger and cheese dip. I loved the condiment bar: cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and a few different salsas.
We rode Mine Train with a minimum wait of about 30 minutes, Kristoff road Big Thunder Mountain twice (Elsa joined him once), Pirates of the Caribbean,
We watched Hallowishes and then staked our spot for the Boo to You Parade. I am admittedly not a Halloween girl but Disney you know. Castle projections and fireworks are one of my favorite Disney experiences. I will skip rides to see the shows. I define prefer Mickeys Very Merry Christmas party but again simply because I love Christmas much more than Halloween.
After the fireworks and parade we made our way up to the castle for the Hocus Pocus Villian Spelltacular show. I was most impressed with this show! It was lovely probably the old school, nostalgia in me.
After that we headed back to our hotel because we wanted to be at Animal Kingdom bright and early for Flight of Passage.
